Embodied Communities is a registered Community Interest Company (CIC) which receives funding from various sources, including the national lottery and local government, to allow me to offer my services to those who may not ordinarily be able to afford to pay privately.
As a survivor of Domestic Abuse, I will forever be grateful for the support I received at no cost to myself. Now, I am honoured to have opportunities to offer support to women, and their families, in my local community. Since Embodied Communities CIC began in 2022 it has been awarded more than £40k in funding which has allowed me to work with the some of the most socially disadvantaged sections of my local community.
I have experienced first-hand, as both receiver and provider, the power and deep need for community-based services. Consequently, I now offer professional guidance to groups and individuals who feel called to form their own CIC and secure funding (usually £10k initially) to enable their ideas for projects to get off the ground and begin to be of real benefit their local communities.
