About

I am a person-centred, integrative psychotherapist who combines a variety of therapeutic modalities to create an individual approach for each person I am with. Deep, compassionate listening is at the heart of all my work – I have discovered this is often all that is required to facilitate deep personal insights. The flow of connection between body and mind is of particular interest to me and yoga-therapy, along with my own long-term mindfulness practice, enables me to offer embodied, somatic exploration where this may feel helpful.
Human relationships challenge us and I am glad to offer relationship counselling (for all relationships, not just those of a romantic nature) along with parenting support. There is more about these aspects of my work on the Active Practical Love page.
It is my honour to also offer professional supervision for other therapists. Please make contact via my contact page if you are a professional or trainee therapist seeking supervision.
My two sons - both of whom have complex additional needs – continue to be my greatest teachers. I am a survivor of Domestic Abuse and much of my work is with those who have experienced complex relational trauma.
I began practicing yoga therapeutically about 15 years ago: when all around me was swirling in chaos, yoga provided a safe path to my own internal experience so I could begin to learn how to know and trust myself.
Befriending myself in this way and accessing the treasure trove of knowledge within me – within all of us - allowed me to make sense of my past and make conscious choices about my future.
Through extensive study, training and - perhaps most importantly - my own, often challenging, personal development, I have come to understand more fully the fundamental need for us all as human beings to feel safe and 'witnessed' with unconditional love and acceptance.
